5 Creative Ideas to take Insta-worthy photos from Home
Many of us are stuck at home. Our lives are on pause yet our creative juices are itching to break free and share all of those wild and adventurous things we all love to do!
Just because you are home should NOT mean that you should stop being creative. Those followers of yours are itching to know what you’ve been doing over there.
Here are a couple of quick photography ideas to slam on the gram while you’re at home with little going on:
1. Windows are your friend.
Window gazing is a great way to express your mood. Think ‘dark shadows’ when editing and look out the abyss when taking your shot.

2. My house looks boring
Ok, I get it. Your place looks like a hotel room. Then focus on you! What have you been doing that your followers might have as well? Hannah (@intrepidintrovert) has been digging into a couple of great books on her Kindle. Hop on the bed and shoot it!

3. Get Comfortable
You’re at home! The days of having to make every photo perfect are long gone. People relate to people. Think about where your followers are right now and what they are thinking. Try to create images that relate to what your followers might be doing too. I’m guessing most have been watching Nextflix in the past month, so how about this one?

4. Make, Bake, Create
Of course, the most simple thing to do here is to make something and share it! Hannah and I had a date night and right before we got stuck in I set the tripod up and took a few shots. It took no more than 10 minutes.

5. Behind the scenes / Be real
This is where you can show off your weird side. Wee all have one! For example, I gave myself a home haircut lol.

Pro Tips: A little extra effort can go a long way.
There are a few extra pointers that can help you create variation and stand out that I want to add in here.
POV (Point Of View) – Showcase what you see. It’s a good idea to bring in your hands to make it seem like the shot is literally a snapshot of that you see.

Create Depth – It’s always good practice to focus on something specific. When shooting close up, ensure images in the background are blurred out. If you have portrait mode on your phone, it’s great for this look
Show your personality – People follow people remember. You can drop the photo “quality” and substitute it with personality. Be you! We follow you for you.

LOOK – Now you have a bunch of photos shot in one evening! Good work.

I hope this gets your creative juices flowing again!
