Why You MUST Visit Croatia This Summer
Ahhh Croatia 🇭🇷 ‘The Floating Party’ is what you’d call a Croatian Summer. So when the opportunity came a knocking, we couldn’t refuse!
…and it was one of the craziest
…coolest
…most insane trips that we’ve ever been on!
If you’re looking for peace and
We spent 7 days on the water with Life Before Work (LBW), exploring islands in Croatia, swimming, jet-skiing and partying the nights away!
When to visit Croatia?
June/July : Start packing NOW!
With the Croatian Summer just around the corner, you’re not going to want to miss this one.
It will depend entirely on your interests though; If you’re not crazy about the rush of tourism and partying the night away, then you’re going to want to head between either April – June or September – October.
But if you are keen for a little party-party and don’t want to miss out on Ultra Music Festival, then June/July will be the time to go.
Be prepared to be worn out by the end of it because it’s a full on week!
Picking the right Croatian Yacht/Tour
Not all tours are the same. Plus, there are many “Sail” Week & “Yacht” Week options.
Option A: Sail Week, is when you hire a sailboat ⛵️ and get a bunch of mates together and cruise around the islands of Croatia with 10 (or so) of your closest pal’s and sail alongside hundreds of other sailboats.
Option B: Yacht Week is when you board a larger ship, aka a yacht. Along with around 20 – 40 people and sail around the islands in your yacht with a group of randoms who soon become friends.
I would LOVE to do both in my lifetime… But we took option B. And sailed on this:
Life Before Work “YachtLife” Tour – https://lbwtravel.com/location/yachtlife
There are so many yachts you can choose from, but we decided this one was our guy – It’s spacious with plenty of leg room, has an awesome crew, great food and… I had a few friends who invited us, so of course we said yes!
They have two boats which can accommodate almost 40 people each, and this was one of the more luxurious boats around, so we weren’t on top of each other and got away when we needed some space.
The set up is pretty awesome, we could choose between four different weeks, and we decided to do week 3. So we headed straight to Ultra Music Festival (more on this later) and continued with the tour after.
It has two boats which accommodate roughly 40 people each, awesome accommodation and air-con! Oh yes!
I’ll spill some juicy details about all that we managed to do here as you keep reading. But if this isn’t your vibe, there are plenty of other options to choose from.
Yacht week in Croatia is taken very seriously. It’s full on!
This is what a typical day looks like on the Yacht Life, but I’ll be honest, after those insane party’s we woke up around

Check out the following for more options, you’ll be able to see all the dates and pricing available and do your own comparison. Oh and be sure to leave a comment on this post if you’ve got any more recommendations!

Island Hopping and Activities
Hvar
Hvar is one of the trendiest spots in Croatia, it’s pretty much a who’s who spot. Lined with beach bars, restaurants and people looking to have fun, you’ll catch a glimpse of everyone who’s decided to spend their summer in Croatia.
If you look a little deeper, there are a few hidden gems to find.
We took a hike up the fortress to check out the most amazing view in town!
Vis
This was one of the absolute highlights! We managed to rent a vintage beetle and cruise around the island! It’s an awesome way to parade around the island and check out all the spots. You can
And be sure to check out Stinivia Cove, it’s a bit of a hike to get there, but you arrive to a secluded beach that’s awesome for a swim and bit of down time to get you ready for the evenings party!
Makarska
This port city has some
Fancy some water sports while you’re there? We had a blast taking the jets-ski out, and it was Hannahs first time on one!
Sea Kayak Tour – Dubrovnik
It’s a loooong tour taking about 2.5 – 3 hours but pretty awesome to see the city from a different angle, especially in the Croatian summer sun!
What Are The Parties Like In Croatia?
ULTRA – Split
If you haven’t heard about Ultra, lets pull you out from under that rock!
It’s one of the largest music festivals in the world, which is why most people put it onto their itinerary when visiting Croatia.
We spent three days partying it up at Ultra before the tour. Yes, before! …at 2-6am (can’t remember) we stumbled from ULTRA to the boat where we stayed out first “night”. We woke about mid-day in the middle of the ocean motoring our way to the first island.
You can purchase your own tickets, or include it in your package if you decide to explore with Life Before Work.
But of course, this wasn’t the only party, pretty much every night after an afternoon exploring session there was some party happening! Hence why our days began around 11 am haha.
Carpe Diem Bar – Hvar
It’s one of those infamous bars that you hear about everywhere, and it’s for a good reason.
Fort George – Vis
Now this is what I call a yacht party. It’s held in an old fort that’s been turned into one of the best clubs in Croatia. It still tells a story dating back to 1811 – You’ll catch all the other yacht goers for a massive party you don’t wanna forget – but just might!
White party – Lumbarda
This one was actually a day time party, and the only white thing I had was a t-shirt which was almost, completely not white – but the party went on!
The Best Sunset Spots Croatia has to offer!
As travelers, we know that no two sunsets are the same, and we’re forever chasing a sunset and always for a different purpose. Sometimes it’s to take in the crazy view and be still for a moment, and other times it’s business related, photos for Insta or a video for Youtube.
So listen up, because here are some of the most awesome spots to watch the sunset in Croatia whilst off your yacht and awaiting your next party.
Zadar
Nikola Bašić created this insanely giant solar panel that was built for the purpose of ‘Greeting the Sun’.
It creates a light show that’s meant to mimic the solar system and it’s right on the ocean front!
Hvar
And I’ll mention the fort again because it’s absolutely picture perfect. If you don’t mind the influx of tourists, it’s a must see. You can get up there with a car or take a hike, and enjoy a fresh drink while soaking in the sun!
Miljet National Park
It’s another one of the coolest Islands around. Hiking up to go see the sunset, you’ll encounter 2 lakes and the view is so cool! I haven’t checked this one out myself but I’ve heard that it’s all other sunsets are no comparable.
Wanting a dip? Here are Croatia’s best beaches
Whether you’re after a swim, dive, snorkel or jet-ski, the water in Croatia is just so damn good… here are the top beaches you’ll wanna dip your toes in.
Pasjača Beach – Konvale
Named the most beautiful beach in Europe in 2019… enough said.
Mali Bok Beach – Cres
The hike is so worth the effort! It’s a cove offering a small beach where you can spend an entire day snorkeling
Zlatni Rat – Brač
This beach changes shape whenever the currents do! One of the longer beaches around, it’s loaded with golden pebbles and trees making it one of those Instagram shot must haves.
Once we departed the yacht and said our goodbyes, Hannah and I took a much-needed break and rented out an Airbnb to refresh and become normal human beings again. – We did nothing but sleep and eat for 4 days straight, haha.
It was honestly one of those experiences that we’ll never forget and that you should try at least once in your life!
Work & Travel ?

We also built Wired Creatives which is the HUB for over 4000 business owners and aspiring digital nomads.
If you are interested, we often hold live or on-demand training calls for our followers to learn from us and how we established ourselves as bloggers!
