Yacht Life, Sail Croatia – LBW Review
What’s better than spending a week island hopping Croatia on a super yacht?
It is (or definitely should be) on the top of many travel lists to sail Croatia. Life Before Work Travel (LBW) on the yacht life tour took us on an incredible week long journey sailing down the beautiful Croatian coast and islands.
The yacht we linked up with to sail around Croatia was enormous and amazing, it had something like 20 rooms, each with their own ensuite, sleeps 40 people and looks a little something like this! (pic below)
During our week of adventure, Life Before Work (LBW) actually had 2 different yachts sailing through the islands of Croatia and traveling together. So overall there were around 80 of us and 2 Yachts. Each boat has its own DJ who spends the week traveling and partying with you. Our boat also had a hot tub on the top deck for added swag lol. The tour included breakfast and lunch every day. At night you would often stop and be on land so would usually eat out together or with a couple of people you meet.
It felt great to have a full week itinerary planned for without having to think about where to go or what to do. Not bad for a trip we managed to plan on a spur of the moment idea and weeks notice… as we tend to do. (Note: We were very lucky to grab a spot… This usually sells out. So be sure to lock in your spot months in advance if possible.)
Off to our first stop – Hvar, Croatia!
It’s obvious why Hvar is said to be one of the most beautiful places on Earth. And even though we were a little run down from all the fun/parties we’d been having, the trek to the top of the fortress was well worth it. Lots of beautiful selfie opportunities with our new friends.
2 weeks during summer when Yacht Life falls on either side of ULTRA Europe. So before we left from split, we had 3 non-stop nights of partying at ULTRA Europe. It was a good way to meet some of the crew we’d be setting sail with during the following week.
There are also some odd LBW traditions when you get this many people together… certain words you can’t say or else you’ll have to do push-ups in the middle of lunch in the center of a square in Croatia! Keeps things interesting of course 😉
Then we sailed off to Vis, Croatia – Where I found my new favorite car!
It’s always a good time when you go to sleep and then wake up having sailed to somewhere different – Today’s mission: Gather the squad, get a purple Beetle, explore the island of Vis!
It wouldn’t be a proper day on Vis island without making our way to Stiniva Beach, the number 1 beach in Europe 2016!
Word to the wise though, be prepared for a steep trek. It was an easy drive to the way into the beach, but about halfway down the walking path we were already wondering how we were going to get back up…
Something I’ve been wondering, what’s with Europe and it’s rocky beaches? Not as comfortable as they look… but a good time and we got used to it.
Our next sail Croatia stop, Lumbarda Beach!
Day 3 or 4, start to kinda get lost on what day it is. One of my favorite parts of the morning is waking up and taking a peep out the window and trying to guess which part of Croatia we’ve sailed into. Sometimes it can be confusing, we think we’re in the middle of the ocean but we’re actually docked up. One thing though, it’s always beautiful.
For this day, the DJ’s on our boat, Rumpus & Sean Lamb, decided to throw a little white party on Lumbarda beach in Croatia. Safe to say we had a good time!
Next island sailed to – Korcula, Croatia
Or as I like to call it, JET SKI DAY!
Another beautiful day, another amazing beach in Croatia. And on this one, I got Hannah on her first jet ski ride! If an when I have a home base, I think a jet ski is one of the things I’m going to buy.
I drove, Hannah didn’t fall off. I call that a successful day of flying across the water in Croatia 😉
The Final Days
The last hurrah with the friends we made during the week.
Filled with jumps off the boat, ping pong balls in drinks, and yacht shenannigans on shenannigans!
We were a little sad to go… and even got some sappy (recorded) send offs from our new mates (who had been partying with earnest, and were feeling quite lovey).
Yacht Lifs, is a beautiful life. Especially when you’re sailing Croatia! Definitely recommend doing it with Life Before Work, they showed us a killer time.
